Little Creek Quarter Horses, a horse ranch located in LaGrange, Georgia is dedicated to providing quality performance quarter horses that will be at home on the ranch or in the competition arena. The family business needed a corporate website to promote their horses and services, and TwinEngines worked within the start-up's budget to design a website built on the umbraco content management system. The open-source CMS, based on Microsoft's ASP.NET technology empowers Little Creek to edit and manage the content and search engine optimization.

Background



Little Creek Quarter Horses was a new full service ranch offering trained horses for sale, training and breeding services, cow horse competitions, and workshops focused on riding your cow horse. The start-up called upon TwinEngines to design their web presence, implement a content management system and search engine optimization.

Challenge



The start-up ranch needed a professional web presence with low operating costs. The goal of the website is to convey Little Creek's commitment and pride in their horsemanship and horses to people interested in buying and selling horses. Little Creek needed an easy, cost-effective way for ranchers to add and remove horses as they are bought and sold so customers always find current information.

Solution



  • TwinEngines built the website on the umbraco content management system (CMS), an open-source CMS based on Microsoft's ASP.NET technology, to empower Little Creek to edit all the images and text on the site.
  • TwinEngines utilized a web template for design - web page templates were then customized defining the look and feel. The templates are tied to the Microsoft SQL Server database for dynamic content display.
  • Custom features include a horse listing module for Little Creek to post images, videos, pedigrees and other details for each horse on the ranch. This reduces the cost to keep the horse list current as horses are bought and sold.
  • Little Creek also uses the umbraco CMS to manage their search engine optimization basics. A Site map page, page titles, meta descriptions, image title tags and keyword rich internal links are easily entered and updated.
  • Integrated Google Analytics for website analysis and to track SEO results.
  • The easy-to-use content management system puts Little Creek in control of their website.
